Gramma Irina's Tomato Stone Soup

Simmer together until carrots and potatoes are soft the following:
1 magical soup stone 2 potatoes 2 carrots 2 cloves garlic 1 chopped onion 6 cherry tomatoes whole 1/4 cup gin 2 cups beef stock dill 2 tbsp vegetable oil celery salt paprika 1/2 tsp cumin 2 tbs butter or extra virgin olive oil 1/2 tsp oregano Add and simmer until the beets are soft: 2 halved beets 2 cups crushed tomatoes |
Blend with a stick blender (or mash with a potato masher) until all ingredients are well blended
Slowly add the remaining ingredients: 6 large whole tomatoes 1/4 cup pickle juice 1 1/2 cups milk Once the last tomato has been added to the soup season as desired with fresh pepper and sea salt and serve (possibly with orange and dill creme fraiche and croutons or yummy never-go-wrong grilled cheese sandwiches). |
