2014-2015 Season Opener
Globe Pub, 1934 W. Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL Monday, July 28, 8:00 PM and SIUC Newman Center, Carbondale, IL Friday, September 19, 7:00 PM FREE* Duke Vincentio has decided to go on a sabbatical and in his stead he has placed Angelo in charge. Where the Duke was relaxed in enforcing the laws, Angelo intends to clean his city up. First on the list is to punish Claudio, a young man that has been living in sin with Juliet and gotten her pregnant. The punishment: death. Enter Claudio's sister Isabella who is days from taking vows and entering a cloistered life in a convent. When the soon to be Sister Isabella is offered a way to save her brother's life by breaking the Sixth Commandment. Will she chose her brother or God? As we face the questions Isabella faces in our first event of the 2014-2015 season we'll also look at some of the other sinners in the Dukedom that push the bounds of the law with every breath they take. Even while ushering in our season we will be celebrating new adventures for Artistic Associate Nicole Goeden and our frequent artist/actor Chad Ramsey. Nicole who will be heading to Glasgow this September to join our other overseas company members and friends and start the pursuit of her Masters Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Chad will be heading to Texas to invest in 10-gallon hats and over-sized belt buckles. Come celebrate our season and their send-off! |
