Every tour season we stop in a few libraries and share the story of Stone Soup (and a few other stories) with Story Hour fun. We're constantly amazed though by how many people we meet between story-telling adventures don't know the story of stone soup, so we are working during this unprecedented lockdown to share the story while we're sharing Shakespeare, soup, and community fun.
We'll be making two exciting videos one for kids and one for adults that can be watched and shared whenever the mood strikes. Just as our telling of the tale during our Story Hour Library visits is interactive, we're trying to make our video include our viewers. Of course, short of a constantly on demand open Zoom channel...it won't be interactive in the same way, but we do want it to include YOU and any of your young friends that might be bold enough to join.
If you (or a small human near you) wants to be in the video, we have a roll for you! We're looking for fans of all ages.

The Story of Stone Soup - Children's Film Fun
we're looking for children 16 and under |
The Story of Stone Soup - Adult Film Short
all ages welcome to help, but the final content will be skewed older (nothing crazy, but there will be some Julia Child-inspired vino in the footage) |
To help us, e-mail [email protected] and let us know which film you are interested in submitting content for. We'll then send you instructions on what we need film footage of. It will be really simple, all easily captured on cell phones, and very easy lines. The deadline to send your interest e-mail is April 3 with the film clips due by April 10 (though earlier on all ends is always appreciated).
As always we stay eager to try your soup recipes, so if you have the perfect recipe for any soup (or even just a great soup story) send that our way to (same e-mail: [email protected]). We'll try them, and once we've drooled a bunch, we'll check back with you and ask permission to share with our community. We think soup is better when shared with all our neighbors, and we hope you do too!
