GUINEVERE BROWN | BIRON/KATHERINE
Guinevere Brown is a determined and fearless theater artist from Southern Illinois. This is her second season with Stone Soup Shakespeare and she is so excited to be back. You may have seen them in Twelfth Night as Andrew Aguecheek (and others). Her passions include music, dance, and most importantly, the theatre. A supporter of inclusion and beauty in the unique, Guinevere endeavors to make space for LGBTQ+ voices and stories.Their art strives to tell stories that make you question and alter your view on the world. She would like to thank her friends, family, and cast for this opportunity and their continued support.
MIQUELA CRUZ | LONGAVILLE/PRINCESS
Miquela A. Cruz (she/her) is a native Chicagoan who has been performing, directing, writing and teaching theater arts since the late 1900s. Favorite past roles include Brutus in the 2017 Stone Soup Shakespeare Tour of Julius Caesar, Dumbledore in Odd’s Bodkins The Tragedy of Tom Riddle and Motormouth Mabel in Hairspray with The Constellation Project. She is very excited to join Stone Soup Shakespeare for another summer adventure.
ALLISON HORVATIN | DUMAIN/ROSALINE
Allison Elizabeth is an actress, writer, and teaching artist based in Chicago. Allison has performed with Oak Park Festival Theatre, Lazy Susan Theatre Co, Corn Productions, 420 Shakespeare, and The Conspirators. She has earned her BFA in Acting from Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts.
LAURA MARJORIE MILLER | FERDINAND/MARIA (SUMMER CAST ONLY)
Laura Marjorie Miller is thrilled to be making her Stone Soup Shakespeare debut! She has acted locally in Stage Company productions of Machinal (Nurse/Ensemble), For Lease Navidad (Mrs Mrs Claus), The Drag (Allen Grayson), and She Kills Monsters (the Elvish Narrator). Last November, Laura directed Twelfth Night for the Stage Co.'s Second Stage Reading Series, and is looking forward to directing The Winter's Tale this coming season! An ardent lover of Shakespeare, Laura travels frequently to London to study Shakespearean acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and played the Second Witch in a production of M*cb*** at RADA.
JULIA STEMPER | ARMADO/JAQUENETTA
Julia Stemper (she/her) is Stone Soup's Artistic Director and Founder. A Chicago-based actor, and teaching artist, as well as the Associate Director of Advancement at Filament Theatre and a yoga instructor for Wildlight Yoga. This Spring she was scene in Dead Reckoning Theatre Company’s The Brewer, and last December had the fun of understudying in TUTA’s production of Long Christmas Dinner. Select additional credits include When You Awake You Will Remember Everything, and I Build Giants (The Plagiarists), and Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed (Lifeline), Julia holds a Masters from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a BA from Macalester College, and this fall will be teaching Devising at Beloit College.
THEO ZUCKER | FERDINAND/MARIA (AUTUMN CAST ONLY)
Theo Zucker (any pronouns) is a Chicago-based actor, writer, and all-around artist. A Stone Soup company member, they toured previously with Julius Caesar, Twelfth Night, Pericles, and Macbeth. They have also performed with Nonsense Productions and Improv Playhouse, and are a cast member in the ongoing audio drama Psychopompos: A New Mythology. Theo's short story "Henry," published in Hominum Journal, was nominated for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize. |
