Almost 1,000 years ago in Scotland there was a king by the name of Macbeth. History reports him to have been a very good, noble and effective king. About 400 years ago a poet by the name of William Shakespeare changed history. Shakespeare wrote Macbeth, a play about the rise and fall of this Scottish king. He wrote that Macbeth had been visited by three witches and foretold of his reign. This man, urged by his wife, used rather under-handed means to gain his kingship as swiftly as possible and maintain it by whatever means necessary. This November Stone Soup Shakespeare tells Shakespeare's version of Macbeth's reign from the eyes of the witches. Three actors will take on over 25 different roles in backrooms around Illinois.
