LAUREN BECKER: Rural-raised, Lauren hails from the Driftless Region of Southern Wisconsin, and as a new Southern Illinoisan is very glad to become a part of the Stone Soup community. Lauren’s credits include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Vera Claythorne in And Then There Were None, Eulalie Mackechnie Shinn in The Music Man, Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, and Gladys in The Pajama Game. In their spare time, Lauren can be found amidst their new and growing garden, harvesting basil for homemade pesto. SOFIA CARVAJAL (she/her)is a new Jersey native that recently relocated to Chicago last year. Along with a passion for theater, she is also an aspiring music producer/songwriter and dj. TERA is honored to be working on this production of Pericles. This is her first production with Stone Soup Shakespeare, and has had blast thru out the rehearsal period. She has taken classes at Actors Studio Chicago. She has done productions at 3 brothers theater in Waukegan in Smoke as Tolstoy, and was also in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory playing multiple characters. She also had the honor of touring the local chicago schools with Greatworks Theater. She has also done theater at the local colleges, playing Mariela in Anna in the Tropics and was in The Tempest. She is currently represented by dream team talent, CTN , Lori Lins ltd, and Desanti talent agency. She was recently seen in Holy Inappropriate at the Elgin fringe festival. ASHLEY LEAKE (she/her) is excited to be making her Stone Soup Shakespeare debut! Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Ashley earned her BFA in Musical Theater from Chicago College of Performing arts, and has enjoyed making Chicago her new home. Some of her favorite past performances include Ragtime (Evelyn Nesbit) and Miscilliance (Hypatia). Since graduation she has had the opportunity to further her education at Actors Studio as well as perform in several short films across the city. JULIA STEMPER (she/her)is Stone Soup's Artistic Director and Founder. She has performed and directed many tours and readings. A Chicago-based actor, and teaching artist, she is a company member with The Plagiarists, teaches yoga for Wildlight Yoga, and is the Grant Writer/Theater & Creative Writing Program Director for FAME Center. Select credits include I Build Giants, and Poison (The Plagiarists), Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed (Lifeline), Pericles (Shakespeare Project of Chicago), Romeo and Juliet (First Folio), and Moon Rhymes (Filament) in Chicago. Outside of Chicago she has performed in Heuristics in the Diner (Tron Theatre & Hampstead Theatre), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Arches) (UK); New Visions/New Voices Festival (The Kennedy Center), Star Spangled Banner (Smithsonian Museum of American History), The Drunkard (Solas Nua), Romeo and Juliet (Company III.ii), The Emperor Jones (American Century Theater), and Alice in Wonderland (Classika) (DC area). Julia served as a guest artist at Hope College in Holland, MI in their 2016 production of The Tempest. THEO ZUCKER (any pronouns) is an actor, writer, and all-around artist currently living in Los Angeles. Before moving to the west coast, she performed regularly with Stone Soup, and is delighted to be joining the tour again this year for Pericles. Theo’s plays have been featured in multiple readings and productions in Chicago, including their short playThe Plants, as well as full-length playsAlive! and Delta. They are a proud cast member of the upcoming podcast Psychopompos: A New Mythology, a queer retelling of the Greek myths. Theo also writes poetry, short stories, and fiction, and hopes to publish writing in the near future. He holds a deep love for nature, and is happiest outside in the sun.
